Interesting ride today. Mars PA to Toano VA. 485 miles total. 0600 up and ready to go. It’s 30 degrees outside. A little trouble starting the bike. 0730 Connellsville PA 35degrees. It’s getting warmer! I76 –> PA 119 -> I68. Not a bad slab. Blinding sun. The last time I saw it today. 0830 Bruceton Mills – Hoping for breakfast and to be able to feel my toes again. More trouble getting the bike started. US 219 – Pretty good road. Elkins & fuel & real trouble getting the bike started. Passed an ATV place. U-Turn and new battery. Not a perfect fit but some foam shims do the trick. US 250 – Really nice road. Lots of linked turns in 3rd gear. Passed a guy in a Porche. I now know: a) I like this road, b) the guy should have saved his money and bought a Kia. A little snow on the WV & VA border. Not too bad. Finally, I’m not cold. Not warm, but not cold. Then it rains. This time of year you buy your ticket and take your chances. Still better than a cage.

219 is really good from Huttonsville (jct 250) south to (almost) Lewisburg. There are some great sections there.

250 is another winner from jct 219 all the way east to (almost) 42. Scenic sweepers alternate with twisty mountain sections. Good stuff. Was just on it last weekend near McDowell.
