2011 was a somewhat slow year for me as riding goes, but I did manage to go on several good trips. I managed just over 10K twisty miles last year which is well down from the 15K - 18K I normally do.

The 950 was down for maintenance from Jan thru mid-April, then I had a good couple months with long weekend trips for the Burger Run, the Potomac Highlands meet, the ADVrider BYOB in Marlinton, and then my own BYOB Reprise because the roads are so good.

Then I let work eat my life and barely rode in July and August, although I did manage to do a KTM Track Day at Mid-Ohio in July. I sold my trusty DRZ400S and bought a friend's  KTM 530 EXC in August, then proceeded to do all the standard mods to it.

I attended ESTN in September and had great time, but didn't take any pictures as I was having too much fun strafing southeast OH twisties. That was followed by a 5-day trip to the southeast during a perfect stretch of Indian Summer weather and great colors. Finished off the season (and my rear tire) on the STN Campout in late October.

I hoped to do more dual-sport riding in the fall on my new-to-me dirt bike, but that didn't work out as planned. I did manage to put 700 miles on it, but those were mostly back road/dirt road miles, not single track, as I sorted out the jetting. I think I finally have the bike sorted out, but still need to install the upgraded stator and cam chain tensioner.

So here's my video for 2011! Music is "Garbage Truck (live)" by the awesome New Orleans band "Galactic".
