I love to meet new people, make friends, and ride... this has been the perfect way to do all three! My direct email is yvonne.mcavoy@gmail.
com, I'm also on facebook at http://www.facebo...![]()
I created the Sport Bike Alliance because I really didn't know anyone else that rode sportbikes. Our first summer we had around 15-20 members, the second over 100, now in our 3rd year, we have surpassed 200 members!

SBA has provided new friendships, people to ride with, new skills, new opportunities - The reasons to join SBA are endless. We are far from a forum or 'online' community... we are a riding group where both friendships and skills grow with each meetup and ride.

"February Monthly Meeting - Quaker Steak & Lube, scheduled to occur on Saturday, February 6, 2010 5:00 PM has been cancelled due to terrible weather. Please update your plans accordingly. ... "Ok, someone pointed out that October is too late in the season and after thinking about it, I would have to agree. The turnout won't be nearly as good then compared to doing it during the heart of bike season...."
"The last time i was there, even though they were supposed to be non-smoking, you had to pay $1.00 to rent an ashtray - the ashtray rental signs went toward their fines if they got caught. They dont still do that, do they?"
"Let's put SBA on the map this summer - I want to organize a huge benefit ride! My vision that began last year is to organize a ride supporting breast cancer - with everyone wearing pink. ... MoreImagine a large group of motorcycles with everyone either wearing pink shirts (over the jackets maybe?) or decorating their bikes with pink ribbons or flags... I really think it would be great! I'm looking at October 2, 2010. (Breast cancer awareness month) Here are my questions: Would SBA members participate and be willing to wear pink? ( I would find somewhere very cheap to purchase pink shirts - and the cost would be put into the entree fee of the ride and we could try to find a printer to sponsor part of it) What do you think about having two groups, one for cruisers and one for sportbikes - to alleviate any issues We could also do it as a poker run, where everyone goes out on their own, or breaks up into smaller groups. The businesses that are willing to participate as sponsors could possibly help with shirt fees, food, etc and in exchange be listed as sponsors and also get the business of everyone stopping on the run. Would anyone be willing to help plan, organize and run this with me? We would need a committee that would meet occasionally - and communicate a lot. The different areas that need managed would be delegated and then each person responsible would/could recruit members/friends/relatives to assist them with their specific task. Let me know. The meeting place would need planned, the route mapped out, the stops at businesses planned and organized, the after party / cookout sponsored, sponsored need found, and this would all needed started very quickly to get the ball rolling for the event to take place in October. We could also raffle off some things (Chinese auction?), finding businesses to donate items shouldn't be difficult... and then have all summer to sell tickets to the event to riders and the general public. I have a ton of ideas, there are so many possibilities and different ways to do this. We can benefit something else I suppose, but then it will just be another benefit ride. I want a PINK RIDE - I want to do something a little different. A bunch of bikers wearing pink will definitely draw a lot of attention to the cause.. and to SBA. :) "
"What group is doing this and who is Sharleen? Is this a meeting for SBA?"
