Comment by Mark D. (The Alien) on February 26, 2012 at 1:21pm I will setup in the small area up-front which is to the left after entering.
Comment by Mark D. (The Alien) on February 26, 2012 at 12:05pm Normally, these races air at 4pm and 5pm. With The SPEED Channel moving them to 2:30pm and 3:30pm we are conflicting with the Pens game. The Daytona 500 starts at 1pm today as well. Rivertowne cannot promise us anything until we get there.
Comment by Garry Simmons on February 26, 2012 at 10:24am Have a good time guys. Things are way too busy at home today to burn the afternoon at the Rivertowne. I will be watching the race from home with one eye on the races and the other eye updating a test procedure for work...
Comment by Mark D. (The Alien) on February 25, 2012 at 11:01am Copied from Crash.net:
The first World Superbike Championship Superpole session of the 2012 season has been cancelled after a serious accident during the preceding Australian Supersport/Superstock claimed the life of one of its competitors.
The incident occurred during the early stages of the race, with a multi-bike collision involving a number of riders. Among those involved was Oscar McIntyre, who was fatally injured in the tragic accident.
Superpole had been due to get underway at 15.00 local time, but having been delayed by more than an hour as medical teams and police worked on the scene, the decision was eventually taken to cancel it altogether.
It means the grid positions will be determined by the results at the end of Q2, which means Kawasakis' Tom Sykes will start the opening round from pole position, ahead of Max Biaggi, Carlos Checa and Jakub Smrz.

Comment by Stephen Teresi on February 22, 2012 at 1:06pm I’m with you Mark on your championship list except I’d like to see a Ducati up a bit higher. Though I’m probably being a bit selfish in that next year I think they’ll be pretty tough to beat with the new bike.
As far as another place to watch the race and it's getting late for this one, give me a general area or a few townships where you think it's best for everyone, or anyone else can add to this ? I know you tried other places before and it can be tough but I’d like to try a place with bigger and closer TV’s because I feel we don’t pay much attention to the races at Rivertown. Possibly because where the TV’s are, and the bad sound system. I’m willing to do the legwork here.
I do know of one place that I ask the staff about the last time I was there and they said it was very doable. The place is called Sauce in Bridgeville Though that may be too south for some. It is not that far of 79 if that would help some. It has a nice small back room with three TV’s at eye level that we could have to ourselves. They may also have a dvd player hooked up to them if not if someone has a small portable one we could also watch a bike related DVD. I have an Isle of Man TT DVD that would be fun to watch with you guys/girls. Maybe we could even do another get-together just to watch racing DVD’s sometime ?

Comment by Mark D. (The Alien) on February 22, 2012 at 7:29am Here is how I would want the championship to come out:
1. Mad Max Biaggi (Aprilia)
2. Marco Melandri (BMW)
3. Jonathan Rea (Honda)
4. Carlos Checa (Ducati)
5. Tom Sykes (Kawasaki)
6. Chaz Davies (Aprilia)
7. Leon Camier (Suzuki)
8. Michel Fabrizio (BMW)
9. Sylvain Guintoli (Ducati)
10. Leon Haslam (BMW)
It won't, but it would be great to have parity across manufacturers..... and Aprilia on top.
